How Many Days After City Slip Is JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Released?

The gap between release of JEE Main city intimation slip and admit card is one to two weeks. While city intimation slip is released around 10 to 14 days before exam, JEE Main hall ticket is released 3 to 4 days before exam. JEE Main city slip gives candidates an early indication of where they will appear for exam, while admit card is an compulsory document for entry into exam hall.

During this period, candidates can plan travel and accommodation arrangements based on allotted city and also raise concerns or seek clarification in case of any discrepancies before JEE Main admit card is released, which contains exact exam centre address, shift timing, and reporting instructions.

Why does NTA not Release City Intimation Slip and JEE Main 2026 Admit Card together?

NTA releases the city intimation slip separately from admit card for these reasons

  • Many candidates are given exam cities different from their hometowns, so releasing city intimation slip early helps them plan travel and accommodation in advance.
  • By releasing JEE Main city slip first, NTA can quickly confirm exam cities, while taking additional time to finalise exact exam centres and shift timings before issuing admit card.
  • Issuing city intimation slip separately also reduces last-minute rush on website, as candidates do not try to download JEE Main 2026 admit card all at once.

What Candidates Can Expect After JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Issuance?

Once NTA releases JEE Main 2026 admit card, candidates can know about all final and confirmed exam details. The admit card mentions exact exam centre name and complete address, along with reporting time, exam shift, roll number, and photograph and signature. It also includes important exam day instructions. Most importantly, JEE Main 2026 admit card is a mandatory document for entry into exam hall. Candidates will not be allowed to appear for JEE Main exam without admit card.
