JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Release Date; Expected Next Week
It is expected that the National Testing Agency will release the JEE Mains city intimation slips next week. As per reports, around 14.5 lakh candidates have registered for the JEE Main January session exams to be held between January 21 to 30.
NTA will allot the JEE Main exam date and city to the registered candidates next week, most probably after January 7. NTA has asked the candidates who have applied for the JEE Main exam with identity proof other than Aadhaar/DigiLocker to upload a photo verification certificate by January 7. The chances are that NTA will release the advanced city slip only after the candidates upload their certificates by the deadline.
Via the city intimation slip, NTA will allot the JEE Main 2026 exam date and the city where they will have to reach to take the exam. It is also expected that NTA will announce the exam date and shifts before releasing the city slips this week. NTA will not hold the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam every day between January 21 to 30. In this period, there will be specific days when the exams will be scheduled.
Last year, NTA notified the specific exam dates on January 2.
Further, NTA will issue the JEE Main 2026 hall tickets to all candidates. The admit cards will be issued 3 to 4 days before the respective allotted exam date. Candidates will have to download their admit card from the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. The city intimation slip will also be available on the official website. Note that only the JEE Main admit card has to be used for verification of identity and entry at the JEE Main centre.
The city slip will only have the allotted exam date and city, while the admit card will have the exam date, exam shift, reporting time, exam centre name and address.
