JEE Main 2026 Jan 24 Shift 1 Analysis: National Testing Agency successfully conducted JEE Main January 24 shift 2 exam today. As per initial feedback, the overall JEE Main shift 2 Jan 24 exam was moderate. Maths was easy to moderate but very lengthy. Chemistry was tough and lengthy. Physics has been rated as moderate. Many students claimed chemistry was the toughes in all shifts held until now. JEE Main Jan 24 shift 2 paper followed latest exam pattern. No major technical issues were reported during the conduct of the exam. Talking about shift 1, the overall JEE Main 2026 Jan 24 exam was moderate in difficulty; however, the paper was exceptionally lengthy and time-consuming.

JEE Main 2026 Jan 24 Shift 1 Section-Wise Difficulty and Topicsย 

  • Physics was rated between easy and moderate by most candidates. Questions were formula-based. Topics such as Current Electricity, Modern Physics, and Laws of Motion had noticeable weightage. Numerical questions were considered doable but time-consuming.
  • Chemistry was also moderate and lengthy. Inorganic Chemistry had a significant presence, with direct NCERT-based questions. Organic Chemistry focused on reaction mechanisms, while Physical Chemistry included standard numerical problems. Well-prepared candidates found this section scoring.
  • Mathematics was reported to be moderate. Lengthy calculations and multi-step problems made time management a challenge. Questions from Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Algebra dominated the section. Several students felt Mathematics was tougher compared to the other two subjects.
