Aadhar and Digilocker for JEE Main Registration 2026

JEE Mains 2026 Registration: Aadhar and Digilocker Now Mandatory

The JEE Main 2026 registration window has been activated at jeemain.nta.nic.in and will remain open until November 27. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced new verification rules for the JEE Main 2026 registration process. It is now mandatory for candidates to verify their identity through Aadhaar or DigiLocker. This move will help in verifying the candidate’s details and reducing application errors.

According to the revised guidelines, students applying for JEE Main 2026 must verify their identity using their Aadhaar Number or DigiLocker account during the identity details stage. As per the information brochure, those who choose not to use Aadhaar will have to upload a scanned copy of a valid identity proof such as a passport, PAN card, or voter ID. However, this feature is not accessible in the JEE Mains registration as of now. The only two documents that the system is accepting include Aadhar and Digilocker.

Linking Aadhaar or DigiLocker helps in the automatic verification of candidate details such as name, date of birth, and photograph. It also reduces errors that often lead to application rejections or mismatches during admit card and result processing.

Students are also advised to update their Aadhaar details, including their recent photograph, name, gender, and address, before applying. Candidates using DigiLocker can directly fetch verified documents like their Class 10 marksheet or birth certificate, reducing the need for manual uploads.

No Correction Facility for ID Details

The NTA has clearly stated that no correction window will be available for Aadhaar or identity details once the application is submitted. Therefore, students must double-check all personal information before final submission.

Key Takeaways For Aspirants:

  • Aadhaar or DigiLocker verification is now mandatory for JEE Main 2026 registration.
