NTA JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam dates have been announced. Registered candidates can appear for exam as per their allotted date between January 21 to 30, 2026. They will get to know about their JEE date and centre by downloading the city intimation slip. The shift will be mentioned on the JEE Main admit card.

JEE Main 2026 exam date session 1: National Testing Agency will release JEE Main city intimation slip and admit card in January for session 1 exam on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates will get to know details on allotted exam date and centre in their JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip. Whereas, hall ticket will include information on shift timings, centre address, exam and candidates name, roll number, registration number, signature and photograph.

Before NTA allots the exam date and centre via the city intimation slip, it will announce the exact exam dates on which the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be held between January 21 to 30.

Once released, candidates can download their JEE Main city intimation slip 2026 from official website. They have to use their login details to download exam city slip online. As per the schedule, JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be conducted from January 21 to 30. Whereas, session 2 exams will be held between April 2 to 9, and the registration for which will start in the last week of January 2026.

When will NTA Allot JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Date, Shift and Centre? 

Registered candidates can get details about their session 1 exam date, shift and centre details from JEE Main city intimation slip. It is expected that NTA will be releasing exam city slip for session 1 in first week of January 2026. Through JEE Main city intimation slip, they can check their allotted exam date and city. They can download JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip from jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Candidates must note that exact exam centre address and shift will be printed on JEE Main admit card and not on city slip. NTA will issue JEE Main 2026 admit card at least 3 to 4 days from scheduled exam date. Only registered candidates can download their JEE Main session 1 admit card online.

Can Candidates Change their JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Date or Shift Later?

No, once NTA allots exam date and shift for JEE Main exam, it is final. Requests for changes even due to time clash with boards generally are not accepted. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be held from January 21 to 30, 2026, with date, centre and shift allotted by NTA and printed admit card.

JEE Main city intimation slip 2026 for session 1 was released on January 8 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Mains City slip have details about the JEE Main exam city in which the candidate is allotted the centre to appear in the exam and the date of exam. It helps candidates to plan their travel to the JEE Main exam centre in advance. JEE Main city intimation slip is different from the admit card.

Q:   Will NTA change the exam dates of JEE Main if the dates clashes with other exams?

No. NTA has clearly mentioned that ot will not change the dates of JEE Main exam of there is a clash of dates with any other examinations.

Q:   Are virtual calculators allowed in JEE Main?
A:

No. NTA has not allowed calculators of kind - virtual or physical inside the JEE Main exam hall. Candidates must not carry calculators or any other electronic device in the JEE Main examination centre.
