JEE Main 2026 Registration Updates

JEE Main Registration 2026: NTA Now Requires Class 11 CBSE Registration Number to Avoid Exam Clash

The JEE Main 2026 registration process undergoes major changes this year. NTA is dedicated to helping aspirants by simplifying the process, reducing the chances of errors by manual form-filling and avoiding board exam date clashes. In a recent update, students will now have to fill in their Class 11 CBSE registration number to submit the JEE Mains application form 2026. This move will help authorities ensure that the JEE Main and CBSE board exams do not clash.

CBSE final datesheet mentions, β€œTo ensure that the JEE (Main) and CBSE examinations of the students do not coincide, NTA will require the Registration number of the student of Class XI to be filled in the JEE (Main) application. Accordingly, all the schools are requested to provide the registration number of Class XI to their students applying for JEE(Main).”

The change has been introduced for the benefit of the students as overlapping of these two crucial exams increases stress and hampers the students' performance in the exam.

The JEE Main 2026 registration is expected to begin tonight. Students must ensure to gather their CBSE Class 11 registration details from their schools before filling out the application form.

Highlights of the JEE Mains-CBSE Notice 2026:

  • Class 11 CBSE registration number is now mandatory for the JEE Mains registration.
  • Schools must provide this number to all the students who are appearing for JEE Main 2026.
  • The step aims to prevent overlap between JEE Main and board exams.
  • Students should collect their registration details before applying.
