JOSAA 2016 portal was launched recently and the Joint Seat Allocation Authority for the year 2016 has released the seat allotment schedule for IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs on its official website.

According to the schedule released by JOSAA,  the Joint Apex Board will declare JEE Main 2016 All India Ranks on June 23, while, the process for JOSAA Seat Allotment will commence from June 24. The last date for candidates to registrar and fill-in their choices of academic programs ends on June 28, 2016.

In totality, there are four rounds of JOSAA 2016 seat allocation with the first one commencing on June 30.  Take a look at the detailed seat allotment schedule for JOSAA 2016 below.

The registration process for JOSAA 2016 would be pretty simple where aspirants will need details like - gender, state code of eligibility and nationality, and contact details. Please note that to accept allotted seats, candidates must pay seat acceptance fee and report at the respective reporting centre for document verification. During the scheduled period, reporting centres will be opened from 10:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs.

The seat acceptance fee is Rs. 20,000 for candidates with the category tag SC, ST, GEN-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD. For all other candidates, the fee is Rs. 45,000.

Students unhappy with seat allocation can withdraw admissions after every round except the last one. 

The joint seat allocation process is held basis the JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks of students.

Can I register till last date of 28th or is it compulsory for me to register before 26th only.

Hi Shalini, You can only register once the registrations begin on June 24.
