JoSAA 2025 Counselling: Last Date to Register and Fill Choices — Lock by 5 PM Today
The JoSAA counselling 2025 choice filling and locking will close today, June 12, by 5 pm. All candidates who have not yet registered or have not filled in their choices must complete it today before 5 pm. Also, the candidates who have not locked their choices must lock their final choice list before 5 PM today. The choices filled must be carefully finalised before locking them in, as after the choices are locked, candidates will not be allowed to make any changes to the choice list.
If a candidate does not lock their choices in JoSAA counselling, then their last saved choices will be auto-locked and will be used for seat allotment in all the rounds. Note that 'Saving' the choices is NOT the same as 'Locking' the choices. A choice that is only saved but not locked can be retrieved later on and modified. The modified choice has to be saved again. The old choice exercised earlier is lost. But a choice that is locked cannot be modified and saved afresh in the JoSAA counselling process.
JoSAA counselling mock allotment 1 and 2 were published on June 9 and 11, respectively.
Next Step in JoSAA Counselling 2025
After today, the candidates who will have registered and filled in their choices will be allotted seats. The first round of JoSAA 2025 seat allotment will be out on June 14.
JoSAA will announce the seat allotment result under the respective JoSAA login of the candidates. Candidates can login with their JEE Main 2025 application number and password to check their allotment. The candidates are allotted seats based on their JEE Main/Advanced ranks, categories and choices filled.
A candidate who has been allocated a seat have to download the “Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip”, which has information regarding the allotted seat. It is the candidate’s responsibility to login to the JoSAA portal and check if a seat is allocated in a given round of seat allocation. No separate intimation of seat allocation will be given to the candidate.

There is no fee for JoSAA registration itself. However, when you are allotted a seat for the first time in any round, you will need to pay a processing fee of INR 5000 as part of the seat acceptance fee. This processing fee is included in the overall seat acceptance fee.
