NIT-Warangal to introduce MTech programme in waste management
The National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NIT-W) is all set to launch MTech in Waste management with 20 seats at the institute.
The National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NIT-W) is all set to launch MTech in Waste management with 20 seats at the institute. While speaking at a two-day industry-academia meet on waste management and social entrepreneurship organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the instituteโs director NV Ramana Rao made the announcement about the new programme on February 28.
While inaugurating the proceedings, chief guest S Sairam, General Manager (Environment and Pollution Control) Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad, stated that the prevailing environmental conditions require waste management practices. He also expressed that there are plenty of job opportunities in this sector. NITW, one of the premier institutes of technology has come up with a postgraduate programme in waste management considering the need of the hour.
The participants and exhibitors include experts from waste management technology, regulatory bodies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, NGOs, utilities, Pollution Control Board, industrial associations, recyclers, private corporates, and allied organisations.
An official from the institute's civil engineering department, K V Jayakumar spoke about finalising MBA programme in Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship in Hyderabad at Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education.
To showcase models for waste management and understand the need for practicing waste management practices, more than 20 stalls were put at the proceedings. The waste management event was organized in association with Telangana Pollution Control Board in coordination with the Warangal Regional office.
During the seminar, the scientific officer, environmental engineer, and media coordinator of TSPCB actively participated in the waste management seminar and exhibition.
