NTA to Announce JEE Main 2026 Exam Dates Soon – Expected Session 1 & 2 Schedule Based on CBSE Datesheet

The Central Board of Secondary Education announced the CBSE Class 12 and Class 10 tentative datesheet on September 24. Most of the class 12 students will be applying for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 and /or session 2 exams. Therefore, NTA has to align the JEE Main 2026 exam dates with the CBSE board schedule so as to avoid any overlapping. JEE Main 2026 exam dates will soon be announced by NTA. Usually, NTA releases the JEE Main exam dates by the last week of October or in November.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 and Session 2 Dates

NTA will be holding the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam in the last week of January 2026. The exam will span over multiple shifts and days. Since the CBSE class 12 boards will start on February 17, the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will he wrapped up before that. On the other hand, the CBSE Class 12 board exams will end by April 9, therefore, NTA will schedule the JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam after that.

Therefore, no changes are expected in the timeline of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 and session 2, going by the recently released CBSE class 12 tentative datesheet.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration Expected in November

NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 session 1 application form in November 2025. The official website to fill in the JEE Main 2026 application form will be announced soon - it can be either jeemain.nta.ac.in or jeemain.nta.nic.in. Or NTA might launch a new website altogether.

JEE Main 2026 will be held in computer-based test mode across the nation. Candidates will be able to apply for any one or both sessions of the exam. The candidates appearing for both sessions will get their results prepared based on the best scores out of both sessions.

To apply for NTA JEE Mains, candidates have to register, fill out the online form, upload some necessary documents and pay the application fee. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 application form will be released in November 2025, and the session 2 forms can be expected in the last week of February.

So candidates should avoid wearing any thing which could result in problems.
