Olympic medallist PV Sindhu to virtually address 58th convocation of IIT Madras
As many as 1,962 students will be awarded degrees during the online convocation ceremony scheduled on November 20.
The 58th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will be held on November 20 (Saturday). Olympic medallist and badminton world champion PV Sindhu will be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony, which will be held in the online mode.
The event will be webcast on IIT Madras website at www.iitm.ac.in from 6 pm onwards. It can also be viewed on the Facebook and YouTube accounts of IIT Madras. The institute will confer degrees on 1,962 students this year. Last year also, the convocation was held in the virtual mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 2,300 students were awarded degrees last year.
IIT Madras has relaunched its MS in entrepreneurship programme. The programme is open to students across the country who have completed their undergraduate or postgraduate degrees. The last date to apply is November 30, 2021. Interested candidates can apply at the following link – https://research.iitm.ac.in/.
First-year BTech classes to begin on November 29
Meanwhile, the institute has also notified that orientation programme for BTech and dual degree 2021 batch is scheduled to be held online on November 23 (Tuesday) at 4 pm through Webex and classes will commence online from November 29 (Monday). The institute said in a statement that details will be intimated after the final round of admission to students to their registered e-mail Id.
