TNEA 2025 Round 1 Choice Filling Closes Tomorrow; Tentative Allotment on July 17
The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), will close the TNEA 2025 round 1 choice filling link tomorrow, July 16. The TNEA choice-filling link is available on the website, tneaonline.org. Candidates with TNEA ranks between 1- 39145 must complete the round 1 choice filling to be considered for the allotment. DoTE will conclude the TNEA 2025 round 1 choice filling tomorrow, i.e., July 16. Candidates with ranks between 1- 39145 will be allotted seats as per their choices filled and merit on July 17. Those who will be allotted a seat must confirm their choices by July 18. The steps to complete the TNEA choice filling are as follows:
- Go to the TNEA counselling website, tneaonline.org
- Log in with your registered email ID and password.
- After logging in, click on the "Choice Entry" tab.
- Candidates can choose any number of colleges and courses for the choice filling process.
- Once satisfied with the preference order, save and lock the choices for the allotment process.
Following the seat allotment, candidates will need to confirm their seats. Candidates can choose any of these six options regarding their allotment: accept and join, accept and upward, decline and upward, decline and move to the next round, decline and quit or upward and move to the next round. The last date to decide is July 18 at 5 PM.
On July 19, the 'accept and join' candidates will be issued the provisional allotment letters, while upward movement candidates can download their tentative allotment letters. The reporting date for round 1 TNEA counselling is from July 19 to 23.

TNEA 2026 Random Number will be out in June 2026. Registered candidates have to sign in by entering login Id/email Id and password to view their unique random number allotted by the authority. The conducting body also informs all the registered candidates about the assigned random number of TNEA 2026 through SMS. The random number will be a 10 digit number that will be allotted to the candidates randomly. Candidates have to verify their documents at TFCs as per their assigned TNEA random number.
How to check TNEA Random Number?
- On the official website of TNEA 2026
- Navigate to the candidate login page
- On the login page, enter your email ID/login ID, password, and captcha code
- The TNEA random number will be displayed on the screen
- View your random number and save it for future references.
TNEA 2026 notification will be out in May 2026.
TNEA stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu conducts TNEA every year. It is an online counselling window. All Indian National candidates who wish to take admission to Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University and for the seats surrendered by Self-Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu have to apply for TNEA counselling.
TNEA counselling is a Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals only. The courses offered via this online counselling are BE/BTech and BE (sandwich) courses. TNEA counselling is conducted online in 4 rounds as per the schedule. Candidates need to participate in corresponding rounds based on their rank.
