Padma Awards 2025: Vinod Dham, renowned as the Father of the Pentium Chip and a distinguished alumnus of DTU, has been awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India at the Padma Awards. He received the honour at Rashtrapati Bhawan from President Droupadi Murmu. This recognition is a moment of great pride for the entire DCE-DTU community.
Vinod Dham Centre of Excellence at DTU
Vinod Dham, a firm believer in the transformative power of innovation and India's potential as a global semiconductor hub, recently inaugurated the Vinod Dham Centre of Excellence to Drive Innovation in Semiconductors and Microelectronics at Delhi Technological University. Generously funded by Dham, the centre is dedicated to training skilled professionals and creating new opportunities for students in the fields of semiconductors and microelectronics. His visionary contributions continue to inspire.
On the day of the inauguration, he spoke passionately about the transformative power of innovation and India’s tremendous potential to become a global leader in semiconductors. Highlighting that semiconductors are the lifeblood of modern civilization, he lauded bold initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission.
The University has released the branch-wise highest salary data for BTech course. According to the report, COE, MCE, and ECE branches recorded the highest package of INR 85.3 LPA during the 2024 placements.
