WBJEE 2025 Result: Top ranked students opt to continue studies in IITs and IISc

WBJEE 2025 toppers list has been announced by the authorities. The official WBJEE 2025 result has been declared, and the students can now check their obtained scores and ranks. Out of the top-ranked students in WBJEE 2025, most are planning on continuing their studies in IITs and IISc's and not participating in the state-level counselling process, which will commence from August 28, 2025. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) declared the WBJEE 2025 result on August 22, 2025, at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. After a long delay in the WBJEE 2025 result announcement , the candidates were finally able to check their obtained scores and ranks in the entrance examination by logging in using their application number and date of birth. Out of all the candidates, a few students stood out as the WBJEE 2025 toppers with their high scores and ranks in the entrance exam. Aniruddha Chakrabarti secured the first rank in WBJEE 2025 , followed by Samyajyoti Biswas and Dishaanth Basu in the second and third ranks.

WBJEE 2025 Result Toppers: Is there a rising trend in WBJEE toppers opting for IITs?

Along with the WBJEE result 2025 announcement, the list of students who scored the highest marks and ranks was also made available. The WBJEE 2025 toppers have cracked the state-level entrance examination with high scores, making them eligible for the top engineering colleges offered by the state of West Bengal. However, most of the toppers have already been allotted to IITs and IISc’s after performing well in JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Even after the announcement of the WBJEE result 2025, some of the students are planning on continuing their studies in the Institutes of Eminence, instead of the state government colleges.

Aniruddha Chakrabarti, who secured the top rank in WBJEE 2025, is currently enrolled in IIT Kharagpur (Computer Science and Engineering). He also secured 348 rank in JEE Advanced 2025. According to reports, while he is happy about his WBJEE 2025 rank, Aniruddha is not planning to leave his current college and will continue his studies there.

Similarly, Samyajyoti Biswas (WBJEE 2025 Rank 2, JEE Advanced 2025 Rank 63), studying in IIT Bombay (Computer Science and Engineering), and Dishaanth Basu (WBJEE 2025 Rank 3, IISc Rank 1), studying in IISc Bengaluru, are planning to continue their studies in their currently enrolled institutes.

Other top rank holders in WBJEE 2025 who are continuing their education in different IITs are Trishanjit Doloi (Rank 5) in IIT Bombay, Sagnik Patra (Rank 6) in IIT Kharagpur and Archisman Nandi (Rank 8) in IIT Kharagpur.

WBJEE 2025 Counselling

The authorities have announced WBJEE 2025 counselling dates. Candidates will be able to register for the online WBJEE counselling 2025 from August 28 to September 1, 2025. During the registration process, candidates will need to fill out their preferred college and course choices in order, and pay the WBJEE 2025 counselling fee. Two rounds of WBJEE 2025 seat allotment will be announced.
