WBJEEB Releases WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling Notification For Vacant Seats

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has notified that an online WBJEE 2026 decentralised counselling process will be held soon. Candidates will be able to participate in the decentralised WBJEE 2026 counselling for admissions into the vacant seats available after institute-wise reporting is completed. The official dates for WBJEE 2026 decentralised counselling will be released soon at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee.
WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling: Is it similar to the mop-up round?
WBJEEB has not yet released details regarding WBJEE decentralised counselling. However, since all vacant seats will be filled through the decentralised process, it is expected to be similar to a mop-up counselling round. Candidates will have to register for the online decentralised counselling.
The authorities have requested the participating institutes and stakeholders to extend their full cooperation and to comply with the instructions, timelines and guidelines that will be issued by the Board from time to time for smooth and transparent conduct of decentralised counselling.
What is the WBJEE 2026 seat allotment process?
For WBJEE seat allotment, candidates are allotted as per their WBJEE rank, preferences and seat allotment. For 10% approved seats in self-financing institutes, JEE Main scores are also accepted. To confirm admission, WBJEE 2026 seat acceptance fee has to be paid online, i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card.
Commonly asked questions
During second round of WBJEE counselling, candidates can go back to their previous allotment, if they are not allotted in their higher preference. If they are allotted higher preference, then their previous seat will be automatically cancelled.
WBJEE 2026 counselling has commenced. The qualified candidates will have to participate in the three rounds of counselling to be eligible for admissions. WBJEE 2026 counselling registration is open online. Seat allotment result will be declared for all participating candidates.
The second round of WBJEE counselling is held to upgrade the registered candidates or freshly allot the ones who were not allotted in the first round. Fresh registrations will be accepted for Round 2.
