How to do KCET aadhar verification?

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) officially released the KCET 2026 notification PDF for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2026. As per the latest update, KEA has introduced a major change - mandatory Aadhaar-based authentication for all applicants. Now, what is aadhar based authentication and how to do it? We will share all the information here.

What is Aadhaar Authentication?

Aadhaar authentication is a process where a student's identity is verified against the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) database. For KCET 2026, KEA will use this to eliminate "proxy" candidates or duplicacy, it will help in preventing duplicate registrations, and ensure data integrity. While submitting the application, the candidate's name and date of birth in the KCET application must strictly match with their Aadhaar card. Their aadhaar must be linked to an active mobile number to receive the necessary One-Time Password (OTP).

Students who have discrepancies in their Aadhaar card and SSLC marks card are advised to get it rectified at a UIDAI Aadhaar Kendra. It will help them avoid rejection during the application process.

How to do KCET Aadhaar Verification?

To complete the KCET registration with aadhar authentication, candidates must follow the  mentioned below -

  1. Visit the KEA portal and click on the "UGCET 2026 Online Application".
  2. In the e-KYC section, enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number carefully.
  3. Choose Verification Mode and Select OTP option (most common).
  4. Enter OTP sent to Aadhaar-linked registered mobile number.
  5. Once authenticated, the system will allow students to proceed with filling in the KCET academic details and uploading of their scanned documents as per the prescribed format.
