Recently, the NIT Council’s standing committee proposed to admit JEE Advanced for admissions to IITs and NITs. According to sources, if this proposal gets a nod, the intake for JEE Advanced might go up.

Through JEE Advanced as many as 10000 students are admitted to the premier IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology). However, if NITs too are opened to this exam then then the total number of seat intake for JEE Advanced is expected go up to 34000.

According to a member of the IIT Council, if NITs too draw students from the same lot which IITs do, then the overall quality of students will improve. The idea behind proposing an idea of this sort is to have one exam, one ranking system and one counselling for IITs and NITs both.

What do think, will the JEE Advanced intake go up from 10000 to 34000?

In 2016, JEE Advanced 2016 will be organized and conducted by IIT Guwahati.

Thats great thinking about conducting a single exam. and intaking of 10000 t0 34000. i dont think this much leap of intake in seat will be taken for admission in both nit and iit. may be possible in possible in far future.but its gonna be more tougher, adv lvl the tough work make us tough. hehe
