Four Central Ministers to travel to Ukraine’s neighbouring nations to bring back Indian students

To bring back Indian students who are stuck in Ukraine, Modi Government has decided to send four central ministers to neighbouring countries of Ukraine. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his council of ministers.

As per reports, Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and General (Retd) VK Singh will travel to neighbouring countries of Ukraine to coordinate with Indian Embassies there and help in the evacuation of students.

In the past few days, hundreds of Indian students have been brought back through special flights from Ukraine and neighbouring country Poland. The Union ministers would go to these nations and help students.

Earlier this morning, PM Narendra Modi called a high-level meeting on the Ukraine crisis as the situation there is deteriorating fast.

Last week Russia attacked Ukraine from different sides after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced military action against Ukraine to demilitarize it.

Chief Ministers of various states like Kerala, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar have expressed their concern over the ongoing situation in Ukraine and urged the central government to bring back Indian students from Ukraine. There are more than 20,000 Indian students in Ukraine.

Indian government has been closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine, and the Indian Embassy in Kyiv has issued several advisory Indians to remain wherever they are and also travel to only those borders which are safe and where arrangements have been made fr their further travel. Hundreds of Indian students have been traveling to border of neighboring countries of Ukraine for safe exit in extreme cold weather.
