KVS Admissions 2022: Kendriya Vidyalayas in Tamil Nadu have decided to give admissions to students orphaned by COVID-19 pandemic for free during the academic year 2022-23. According to the decision taken by the state government, schools in Tamil Nadu have been directed that each school will admit up to ten such students in different classes. The schools have put up banners regarding the admission process.

According to TOI, M Manickasamy, principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Madras said, “Students who have lost their parents to Covid-19 can approach the schools through the district collector. Depending on the age of students, we will give admission to the students.”

COVID-19 data released by the government informed that in Tamil Nadu, approximately 387 students under 18 years were orphaned due to the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic and 9,147 students lost one parent.

KVS Class 1 Admissions 2022 deadline extended

 With respect to a plea filed against the KVS admission age criteria, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has informed the Delhi High Court that it has extended the last date for submitting the online application for admission to Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalayas for the upcoming academic year from March 21 to April 11, 2022.
