The state government conducted a COVID-19 review meeting to analyse the pandemic situation in Himachal Pradesh. Following the meeting, the authorities took the decision to allow the reopening of schools and colleges in the state.

HP School, College Reopening: Amid the declining cases of the novel coronavirus in the state, the Himachal Pradesh Government has allowed reopening of schools and colleges in the state from today, i.e. February 17. HP CM Ram Thakur confirmed the news about the reopening of educational institutions in the state during a press meet.

The state government conducted a COVID-19 review meeting to analyse the pandemic situation in Himachal Pradesh. Following the meeting, the authorities took the decision to allow the reopening of schools and colleges in the state. In the meeting, current statistics and active COVID-19 case numbers in the state were reviewed by the HP CM. Looking at a significant improvement in the COVID-19 numbers, the state government has decided to allow educational institutions to reopen.

Earlier, the state government had already allowed the reopening of schools for senior students, i.e. Class 9 and above. Now, with the latest orders, offline classes would commence for all students including Class 1 to 8 students

Amid the resumption of offline classes in all state schools and colleges, the state government has directed all administrators to ensure that all COVID-19 protocols, precautionary and guidelines are followed strictly. Wearing masks, using sanitizers, thermal screening, following social distancing are among some of the important precautionary to be followed in order to avoid COVID-19 spread. In addition to schools and colleges, the state government has also allowed the reopening of all gyms, cinema halls to reopen and all kinds of langars to take place, including those in religious places.
