With an emphasis on computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, ASAC will encourage multidisciplinary research by integrating computational analysis into the natural and social sciences. The university aims to generate INR 250 crore over the next five years in order to finance research and support the expansion of the institute.

Ashoka University announced the launch of the Ashoka School of Advanced Computing (ASAC), an effort to revolutionize computer science research in India. ASAC is expected to transform computational thinking, allowing it to be utilized throughout the natural sciences, social sciences, arts and sciences, and Humanities.  Over the span of five years, Ashoka University anticipates raising INR 250 crore to support the school's expansion, fund innovative studies, and attract top-tier faculty, students, and researchers from around the world.

ASAC will further develop innovative academic programs to educate future generations of computational thinkers, providing them with profound moral, ethical, and cultural knowledge so that they may use computing for the greater good. 

ASAC will also include multiple pioneering Centers of Excellence, which will act as centres for innovation and knowledge development as mentioned below:

  • The Centre for Data Science and Analytics (CDSA), which consolidates diverse data sets into an integrated knowledge graph with rich information, fosters multidisciplinary research and creates fresh chances in core computer science and AI.
  • The SafeExpress Centre for Data, Learning, and Decision Sciences is developing AI solutions for difficult social problems, such as weather modelling, money laundering detection, and healthcare simulations.
  • The Centre for Digitalisation, AI and Society investigates the social, ethical and legal consequences of AI in public services.
  • The Koita Centre for Digital Health (KCDH-A), part of the Trivedi School of Biosciences, will lead advances in digital healthcare, genetics, and AI-powered medical solutions.
