B.E.ST.I University, India Foundation launch School of Global Leadership

SoGL launch also saw announcement of a one year full time Post Graduate Programme in Global Leadership (PGP-GL).

Bharatiya Engineering Science and Technology Innovation University (BESTIU), in partnership with India Foundation has launched the School of Global Leadership (SoGL). The school has been established to reimagine leadership education for a complex, multipolar and interconnected world.

The curriculum integrates governance, public policy, strategy, innovation, and ethics, with a strong emphasis on experiential learning, mentorship, and engagement with live institutional challenges.

Addressing the launch Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan said: “The School of Global Leadership has been conceived in response to the limitations of conventional leadership education, which often emphasises tools and techniques while falling short in preparing leaders for sustained uncertainty, institutional complexity, and real-world decision-making. SoGL approaches leadership as a serious academic and practical discipline focused on systems thinking, institutional design, ethical responsibility, and the translation of ideas into action.”

Addressing the gathering, Chair of SoGL, Jayant Sinha, Indian Politician and former member of parliament said, “Established by BESTIU, a UGC-recognised university, with the India Foundation as Knowledge Partner, SoGL is anchored in India’s developmental experience and civilizational ethos while engaging directly with global leadership debates. The institution is premised on the belief that many of today’s most relevant leadership insights are emerging from societies managing scale, diversity, and rapid transformation, and that education institutions rooted in these realities can meaningfully contribute to global leadership thought.”

SoGL also announced Post Graduate Programme in Global Leadership (PGP-GL), which is a one-year, full-time programme structured as a multi-continent academic experience. This programme combines academic instruction with applied learning through international residencies across India, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United States, Italy, Belgium and Netherlands supported by a growing network of international academic collaborators and senior practitioners.
