CUET UG 2022 Result out, DU Admissions 2022 to BA(Hons.) English to be tough, know why

CUET UG Results 2022 has been declared today; i.e. September 16, 2022. With more students scoring 95 percentile in English than in any other paper in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), admission to Delhi University's BA English (Hons.) programme is going to be tough this year too.

As per the data, English also has the highest number of 100 percentile scorers (8,236 candidates) across all CUET subjects. In DU Admissions 2021, 3,100 students had taken admission to the BA English (Hons.) programmes across 46 DU-affiliated colleges which was then based on the Clas 12th Board Exams score.

As per the Indian Express report, the top five subjects that had the highest number of examinees or candidates are: English, general test, chemistry, mathematics and physics. It was also found that the physics and mathematics were the toughest papers and English, the easiest. Around 4.85 lakh appeared for the English paper, 4.5 lakh appeared for the general test, 2.3 lakh candidates appeared in chemistry, 2.29 lakh in mathematics and 2.2 lakh candidates in physics. CUET UG 2022 covered a total of 61 subjects.

In English, 33,627 candidates scored 95 percentile. This was followed by 24,030 candidates with 95 percentile in general tests, 12,179 in chemistry, 11,942 in mathematics and the least, that is 11,329, in physics.

With these numbers, the Delhi University admissions in 2022 look as tough as it has been all these years. Earlier, Delhi University Dean (Admissions) Haneet Gandhi while explaining the DU admission process 2022 said that,"until all students submit their CUET scores and their preferences, it will be hard to gauge what a candidateโ€™s chances for a particular programme and college may be."
