DU Admission Process through CSAS
DU CSAS UG 2025 admission process includes three phases - submitting the CSAS application form, selecting programmes and filling out preferences, and allocating seats and accepting admission. In the first phase, candidates are supposed to submit their application form after filling in their basic details. Students who have appeared for CUET must register and log in using their CUET application numbers and passwords. It must be noted that the personal details (name, signature and photograph) get automatically updated through the CUET application form, so it can not be edited. However, candidates are given the option to edit other personal details like email ID, Father's name, Mother's name, home address, etc.
The phase 2 process will start after the declaration of the CUET UG score. In this, candidates are required to select the college and programme combinations. Candidates must note that they have to confirm the programme-specific CUET-UG merit score for all the selected programmes. Candidates are supposed to select the college and programme combination before the deadline set by DU. Once it is submitted, the preference order cannot be changed. In case the candidate forgets to select the preferences, then whatever preference was last saved by an individual gets saved automatically.
The third phase of the DU CSAS process includes multiple rounds of allotment and admission. Candidates are supposed to check the seat and college allotted to them by visiting the common admission portal. The allotment by DU is based on a number of factors — combination of colleges and programmes chosen, position of the candidate on the merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate and availability of seats. The steps of the admission process are further explained in the points below.

The admission process for Delhi University (DU) is extremely competitive, especially for the well known and popular courses and colleges. However, the difficulty level of admission varies depending on the programme a student wishes to get into. Some of the key parameters that define how difficult can be for a student to get into a good DU college with good course:
- Scores in CUET/ Class 12
- Category
- Selection of College + Course combination in the CSAS registration process
Up until 2021, only top scorers of Class 12 were able to get into Hindu, Hansraj, Miranada, SRCC, LSR and other reputed colleges for top courses such as BA (Hons) in Economics/ English/ Political Science, BSc (Hons) Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics and BCom (Hons) courses. However, if the dream is just to study in a reputed DU college, there is a basic hack that can be followed by anyone and everyone. All the top colleges of DU offer short-duration certificate courses in Languages and other interest areas. Those who are not able to get into DU can witness the buzz of being a DU student by pursuing these courses.
