Delhi University Denounces 'Fake' Circular Highlighting Extension of Online Classes; Regular Classes Resumes
Delhi University regular classes for all level students have been resumed today i.e. November 25, 2024.
Delhi University (DU) has issued a clarification against fake news circulating over social media platforms about the extension of online classes. The university has stated that no such extension has been announced by the university for undergraduate and postgraduate students from all years. The fake notice highlighted that due to the severe Air Quality Index (AQI) across Delhi and NCR, the university has extended the online classes till Thursday, November 28, 2024.
“In light of the persistent deterioration in Air Quality Index (AQI) across Delhi & NCR, the Competent Authority has decided to extend the online mode of classes till Thursday, the 28th of November 2024. The schedule of Examinations and Interviews shall remain unchanged. This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.” The fake notice reads.
Following this, the university took to its social media handle on 'X' formerly Twitter, stating the trending notice as 'fake'.
Authorities Dismiss Fake Announcement on Winter Break
In similar news, Delhi University has issued a clarification against false notice stating the commencement of winter holidays between November 19 to 27, 2024. There again, the university issued a notification on its social media handle and on the official website condemning that no such notice was issued by the official, and instead notified about the online classes till November 23, 2024, as a consequence of alarming high Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi.

The Delhi University has issued a notification highlighting the commencement of regular classes for all level students at the university from November 25, 2024, onwards. Besides, despite online classes till November 23, the examination and interview remained unchanged.
