The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced new deadline for admissions to its July 2025 session. Now, Candidates can apply for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate programmes in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and fully online modes till 15 August 2025.
IGNOU Confirms Extended Deadline via Official Tweet
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), IGNOU announced: “Last date for submission of Application to ODL and Online Programmes extended till 15 August 2025. Portal for ODL Programme: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Portal for Online Programme: ignouiop.samarth.edu.in”
The extension comes as a relief to thousands of aspirants who were unable to complete their applications by the previous deadline of 31 July 2025.
Where and How to Apply
Interested candidates must apply through the respective portals:
- For ODL Programmes: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in
- For Online Programmes: ignouiop.samarth.edu.in
Applicants are advised to register and create a login ID, fill in programme-specific details, upload documents, and pay the requisite fee before submitting their application. A Distance Education Bureau (DEB) ID is required for validation in accordance with UGC norms.

Students who have applied for B.Ed, MBA or PB BSc Nursing must appear for the required entrance and check if they've qualified it. Followed by application, application fee payment and entrance, students who have completed their registration can check their status by entering their registration number on the IGNOU admission status page.
