JMI Admission 2025-26: Registration Through CUET Begins; 14 New Courses Launched
Jamia Millia Islamia has introduced 14 new programmes for the academic session 2025-26 including BDes, BSc Hons, PG Diploma in Fire Safety, MFA and other programmes in order to enhance academic excellence and skill development.
JMI Admission 2025-26: Jamia Millia Islamia has released the admission prospectus for academic session 2025-26. The university has opened the admission process for several undergaduate, postgraduate, diploma and advanced diploma programmes. To encourage more admissions from overseas students and NRI wards, JMI reduced fees for applicants from SAARC countries, as well as for diploma courses offered by the University Polytechnic.
There are two seats reserved for foreign students willing to get admission to the BDS course (which admits students through NEET). Foreign nationals applying for PhD courses at JMI can now attend entrance interviews online from their locations.
Jamia Millia Islamia Admission Through CUET: Number of Courses Increased
The university has highlighted the increase in programs where JMI admission through CUET is conducted. Admissions to a total of 25 programmes (09 UG, 05 PG, 08 diploma programmes and 03 advanced diploma programmes) will be done through CUET Merit Score. Last year, a total of 20 courses were under Jamia Millia Islamia CUET admission.

Jamia Millia Islamia offers seat reservations in almost all the courses based on the category of the students. Candidates seeking JMI admission under the reserved category can apply for reservation under one category only and are required to fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions of the course. More details regarding JMI reservation criteria are enlisted below:
- 30% of the total number of seats in each course are reserved for Muslim applicants. 10% of the total number of seats in each course are reserved for women applicants
who are Muslims and 10% of the total number of seats in each course shall be earmarked for (OBCs) and ST students who are Muslims. - 5% of seats in all the courses are reserved for physically challenged students.
- 5% of seats in all courses must be filled by internal students of Jamia who have passed their qualifying exam from Jamia schools as regular students.

As per the CUET UG website, students seeking admission to BA at Jamia Millia must appear for and qualify CUET exam. However, since some universities are also considering other components while giving admission to CUET-UG based courses, it could be a possibility of getting into JMI without CUET. But, this being said there is no official information on whether the university will only consider CUET UG scores or other components as well for admission, it is tough to give the right answer. Students are therefore advised to reach out to the admission office for more details.

The 2023 schedule for Jamia Millia Islamia entrance exam is out. The entrance exam will start taking place Apr 15 onward. For the same, students can fill out the application form between Mar 4 and Apr 3. In case students wish to make any changes to the application form, the same will open between Apr 4 and Apr 6. After that, the admit card will be out on Apr 10 and then students can appear for the exam. Any changes in the timelines will be updated here once out. All the students who will appear for this exam must note that the last date for submitting the qualifying exam result is Sep 30.
