Jamia Millia Islamia's Multidisciplinary Centre for Advanced Research and Studies MSc Virology student Adila Khanam has been awarded the honourable Princeton Foundation for Peace & Learning National Scholarship (USA) for the 2024-25 academic year.

This USA-based internship is a scholarship program offered by the Princeton Foundation for Peace and Learning, focusing on entrusting women through education, particularly targeting disadvantaged girls in India, seeking to support their college education to contribute to peace and well-being in their communities.

With the help of the foundation, Khanam will receive financial support along with access to a wealth of mentorship including an opportunity to work in corporate and research internships.

Expressing her excitement, Adila shared, "I am thrilled about the USA-based internship and the chance to learn from various mentors who will guide both my personal and professional growth. I am extremely grateful to my mentors, particularly Dr. Jawed Iqbal, whose steadfast guidance and support have been essential throughout my academic journey." She further extended her heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mohan Joshi, Assistant Professor for introducing her to the MCARS scholarship.

The Faculty of Dentistry at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has organised a workshop on 'Soft Skills in Dental Practice' at the premises where fifty BDS interns from the 2020 batch participated to learn the latest practice in the dental sessions. The workshop included role plays of clinical case scenarios such as the importance of sterilisation, counselling HIV reactive patients, proper placement of implants and more.
