PUBDET 2025: In a recent poll survey conducted on students’ choice of UG programmes at Presidency University, it has been observed that the majority of aspirants wish to enrol on the BA English course. A total of 39% of all survey participants chose this programme. BSc Physics and BSc Chemistry were chosen by 18% of students, standing as the second most popular UG programmes at the university. 15% of students chose BA Political Science while only 9% chose BSc Mathematics.

What does BA English at Presidency University Entail?
Similar to most bachelor’s degree programmes, BA English at Presidency University is a 3-year programme. High school graduates can apply for it. The total tuition fee of the programme is INR 5400. Over the 6 semesters of the programme, students are taught the following modules.
M1 - English Literature 1780-1830 (Poetry & Prose), Classical and Biblical Background to Eng Lit.
M2 - English Literature 1830-1900 (Poetry & Prose)
M3 - English Literature 1500-1660 (Poetry, Prose & Drama)
M4 - English Literature 1660-1780 (Poetry, Drama & Prose)
M5 - English Literature 19002000 (Poetry, Drama and Prose)
M6 - Old and Middle English Literature
M7 - History of the English Language
M8 - IWE
M9 - American Literature
M10 - Phonetics and Modern Linguistics
M11 - Postcolonial Literatures
M12 - Criticism

PUBDET 2025 Application Process
The admission process for UG admissions at Presidency University is now ongoing through PUBDET 2025. The applications for PUBDET 2025 started on March 28, 2025. As of today, only a few days are left to apply for the exam. PUBDET 2025 applications end on April 28, 2025. Students who are interested in taking admission at the university can apply online at https://wbjeeb.nic.in/pubdet/.
Follow the steps mentioned below to apply for PUBDET 2025.
- Visit the official website - wbjeeb.nic.in/pubdet/
- Click on the PUBDET-2025 Application Form link
- Click on New Registration and register by entering personal and contact details like your name, parents’ names, email ID, phone number, DOB, identification, address, and domicile. A password must also be set during this stage.
- An application number will be generated and shown on the screen. The same will be sent to applicants on their registered mobile numbers via SMS and email.
- Now fill the application form by entering details like choice of course, exam centre choices, academic details, etc.
- Upload scanned images of your passport-sized photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI and submit.
- A confirmation page will be generated indicating that your application is now complete.
Once the applications close, WBJEEB will provide a short application correction window from April 30 to May 2, 2025. The PUBDET 2025 admit cards will be released on June 6, 2025. Applicants will be able to download their admit cards until June 22, 2025, the second and last day of the entrance exam. The schedule for result announcements and counselling will be shared on the official website (mentioned above) in due course.

Yes. PUBDET is conducted by the Presidency University in order to offer candidates admission in Humanities and Science streams at the undergraduate level. PUBDET comprises separate entrance exams that are conducted to offer admission to aspirants in different Science and humanities programmes offered at Presidency University at the undergraduate level. While appearing for PUBDET exam, candidates can apply for a maximum of any two subjects.
