Russia-Ukraine crisis: Indian Embassy asks students, others to leave; connect with contractors for charter flights

Indian Embassy has advised its nationals to follow its Facebook, website and Twitter for any update.

Indian Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine has issued a fresh advisory whereby it has advised Indians, particularly students to leave the country temporary. The advisory has been issued in view of continued tensions in Ukraine and fear of Russian invasion.

The threat of Russia invading its neighbour Ukraine is increasing day by day and thousands of Indian nationals who are there are worried about their safety. Every year hundreds of Indian students head to Ukraine to pursue medical education.

As per the fresh advisory, all Indian nationals in Ukraine whose stay is not essential and all Indian students to leave the country temporarily in view of continued tensions in Ukraine. Students have been advised to also get in touch with respective student contractors for updates on charter flights, and also continue to follow Embassy social media handles for updates.

It states: β€œIn view of the continued high levels of tensions and uncertainties with respect to the situation in Ukraine, all Indian nationals whose stay is not deemed essential and all Indian students, are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily. Available commercial flights and charter flights may be availed for travel, for an orderly and timely departure.”

The Embassy advisory further states that Indian students are advised to also get in touch with respective student contractors for updates on charter flights, and also continue to follow Embassy Facebook, website and Twitter for any update.
