UGC Extends Deadline for ‘Ph.D. Excellence Citation’ Nominations to April 15

Initially, UGC had invited nominations for the award on January 1, 2025, setting March 31, 2025, as the deadline.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the last date for universities to submit nominations for the "Ph.D. Excellence Citation" to April 15, 2025. The decision follows multiple requests from universities seeking additional time for the submission process.
Initially, UGC had invited nominations for the award on January 1, 2025, setting March 31, 2025, as the deadline. However, in response to the requests, the commission has now granted an extension of two weeks. Universities can submit their nominations through the designated UGC online portal before the new deadline.
The Ph.D. Excellence Citation is an initiative by UGC to recognize outstanding doctoral research contributions from scholars across Indian universities. The citation aims to highlight significant academic achievements and impactful research in various fields.
The extension is expected to allow a greater number of universities to participate in the process and ensure that deserving candidates are considered for the recognition. Institutions are urged to complete their submissions within the extended timeframe to avoid last-minute hurdles.
For more details, universities can visit the official UGC website.
