UGC Urges HEIs to Promote Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2025 from August 2–15

UGC urges Higher Education Institutions to promote Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2025 from August 2–15, encouraging students and faculty to hoist the national flag and celebrate Independence Day.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has called upon all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to actively participate in and promote the Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) Campaign 2025, to be observed nationwide from August 2 to August 15, 2025. The initiative, under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, encourages citizens to bring the national flag home and hoist it in celebration of India’s independence.
Over the past three years (2022–2024), the campaign has evolved into a mass movement of national pride, with the Tiranga prominently displayed in homes, institutions, and public spaces across the country on Independence Day.
For 2025, the campaign will be implemented in three phases, as approved by the National Implementation Committee (NIC):
Phase 1: August 2–8
Phase 2: August 9–12
Phase 3: August 13–15
The UGC has urged HEIs to encourage both students and faculty members to take part in the celebrations, ensure wide dissemination of campaign details, and leverage social media platforms for maximum outreach. The move aims to strengthen the sense of patriotism, unity, and national identity among the youth.
