Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore conducted valedictory function of the sixth batch of the General Management Programme for Working Executives – GMPe Dubai on July 1, 2022. IIM Indore offers several executive programmes in UAE, Middle East, and GCC nations. One of such programmes is the General Management Programme for Working Executives – GMPe Dubai. The event took place in the presence of Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. The occasion was also graced by the presence of Professor Subin Sudhir, Chair – Executive Education, and Professor Manoj Motiani, Programme Coordinator, GMPe.

In his address, Professor Rai shared his mantra of navigating through several hardships and challenges with the participants. The professor encouraged student to develop courage not just to fight against external challenges but also your internal fears. “You might be scared of what is going around you or what will happen next. You need to practise courage and bravery and overcome these unprecedented fears. He advised the graduating batch to take the first step ahead in any situation, for that decides whether you could be a success, “ He sai. “Anytime in your life if you doubt your capabilities, look back and analyze how far you have come already. Take responsibility for yourself and the people around you. In this busy life, pause to introspect and reflect –that would help you identify your purpose. There might be a phase when nothing goes your way, and things are immensely overwhelming. However, remember, this too shall pass. What is yours today was someone else’s yesterday – and will belong to someone else tomorrow. This feeling would give you peace of mind. You will become more giving and will earn the gratitude of people – which is priceless,” he concluded.

Mahesh Chotrani and Manohar Punjabi, Founder Directors, Anisuma Training Institute, also congratulated the batch for completing the programme. Participants of the GMPe batch 6 shared their experiences during the programme. They noted that the robustly designed programme by IIM Indore has upskilled them and augmented their understanding of management. Professor Rai also gave the certificates of completion to all the 47 participants. Ten participants in the batch were from the GCC nations. 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Motiani. With this, the total number of alumni in UAE, Middle East, and GCC nations has crossed 500, with more than 60 female alumni.
