IIT Palakkad signs MoU with IAF on 3D Metal Additive Manufacturing

IIT Palakkad and the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Headquarters, New Delhi have inked an MoU for research and development related to 3D Metal Additive Manufacturing. 

IIT Palakkad and the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Headquarters, New Delhi have joined forces to facilitate cooperation and promotion of research and development in the areas of indigenous development of aviation components with a specific aim to undertake research in 3D Metal Additive Manufacturing.

IIT Palakkad and IAF, Air Headquarters, New Delhi, signed an MoU at the 9 Base Repair Depot, Air Force Station Pune. The MoU was signed by the Air Vice Marshal PS Sarin, VSM and the Dean, Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research, Dr Santhakumar Mohan in the presence of Air Marshal Vibhas Pandey AVSM VSM.

Besides research in areas of mutual interest, the MoU will assist indigenization efforts of the IAF for specific studies in the area of metallurgy related to 3D Metal Additive Manufacturing and in connection to other critical projects.

IIT Palakkad, Ethiopia bilateral collaboration formalised

Bayissa Badada Badassa, State Minister of Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Ethiopia and Dr Leta Tesfaye Jule, Member of Parliament and President of Dambi Dollo University visited the Institute on July 23, 2022. Dr Krishnaraj, Professor and Ethiopia's Principal Scientific Advisor, Ministry of Innovation and Technology was also present. Their visit initiated Ethiopian Bilateral Collaboration with IIT Palakkad and facilitated experience sharing by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Ethiopia, Dambi Dollo University and Ministry of Education, Ethiopia. An MoU was also signed for a Joint Multidisciplinary International Quality Improvement PhD programme, which will pave the way for student exchange.
