Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has interacted with students of the University of New South Wales, Sydney and said that education is an important element of the India-Australia partnership. He added that education will act as a bridge between India and Australia and both countries will soon start dual degree programmes for students.

"I invite the University of New South Wales to expand its footprints in India and enable students on both sides to gain," said Piyush Goyal, as reported by NDTV.

His tweet reads, "Education & Commerce engaging with Technology in Action, that is #IndAusECTA. Invite @UNSW to expand its research footprint in India. More Indian students can gain from quality education in Australia & Australian students can gain from the knowledge India has to offer."

"For India-Australia to reach $100 billion bilateral trade, we have to look at deeper engagements in - Science & Tech, Research, Education. Have to align standards & get our standards bodies to work with each other for seamless access for products into each others' markets," he said through another tweet.

India-Australia trade pact to raise bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030

Piyush Goyal has said the India-Australia trade pact will raise bilateral trade from the present $26-27 billion to $100 billion by 2030, much faster than the initial expectation of rising to $50 billion in five years. 

The minister invited Australian businesses to invest in India. “We offer you transparency. We offer you our trust, and rule of law. We are two democratic nations, two people who love sports, both are members of the Commonwealth,” he said.
