Indian medical students studying MBBS from China to protest at Jantar Mantar today
The plight ot the Indian medical students studying MBBS from China continues and today the students will be protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
Indian medical students pursuing their medical degrees from China are looking at an uncertain future as the China government is not allowing them to go back to China and Indian government is not providing them the practical classes as demanded by these students. Today, the students will gather at Jantar Mantar to protest and raise their issues.
Nearly 100 people including students and parents will be gathering today with placards and banners, as reported by edexlive. Foreign Medical Graduates Parents Association (FMGPA) and students are organising this gathering to highlight the urgency of the matter.
"For two years, students have been going through unimaginable trauma and all we want to do is express the urgency of the matter," said one of the parent.
Got no positive response from China on this matter, says MEA
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that MEA has been regularly raising the issue of Indian students pursuing medicine from China but has not got any positive response from China yet.
Commenting on the reports that China is facilitating return of students from other countries, he said, "I have seen some reports, but I don't want to speculate here that some students are going back. We are concerned about students in India and on that, we don't have any movement yet... so if the Chinese are looking at options on how they can get students in, I sincerely hope, that Indian students would also benefit from that mechanism," as reported by First Post.
