Jharkhand Government to provide free coaching for competitive exams to school kids
The Jharkhand government has also announced to include free coaching for the National Defense Academy (NDA) test in the Aakanksha programme.
Jharkhand Government has given nod to the proposal of providing free coaching for NTSE, Olympiads, CLAT exams to the students of government schools. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has approved the proposal of the school education and literacy department.
Jharkhand Government: Free Coaching for competitive exams in schools
The Jharkhand government will begin working on the implementation of the scheme soon. As per the information shared by the government, a total of 100 students will be selected for the special residential coaching of NTSE and Olympiads under this scheme. Out of the total, 25 students each from classes 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be selected for the two tests.
NTSE is a national-level SHRESHTA scholarship examination conducted by the NTA. Olympiads are competitions held by private organisations to examine the knowledge of students in subjects like mathematics, science, English and computer.
For CLAT, the entrance test for admission to law universities, 100 students - 50 each from classes 11 and 12 - will be selected. The Government will provide residential coaching for National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Olympiads and Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) under this scheme. It must be noted that the government is already running the Aakanksha programme since 2016-17. The programme provides free coaching for medical and engineering entrance examinations to the government school students.
The Jharkhand government has also announced to include free coaching for the National Defense Academy (NDA) test to the Aakanksha programme.
As per reports, until now, 92 students have cleared Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, 11 passed JEE Advanced and 64 have cracked the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) under the Aakanksha programme.
