Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has sought a report from the Kerala University regarding the incident of distributing the answer keys to students instead of question papers. As per Raj Bhavan officials, the reports have been sought as part of a routine checkup as the Kerala Governor is the de facto Chancellor of the state universities.

The incident took place during a re-examination for the BSc Electronics paper 'Signals and Systems', answer keys for the paper were distributed to Kerala University students instead of the actual question papers. The incident came to light when the evaluator for the BSc Kerala University Exams asked for a question paper with the answer script of the student, but instead was handed the answer key.

As per the reports in the local media, the Office of Controller of Examinations had printed the answer keys of the BSc exam by mistake. It is to be noted that the incident was not reported during the exam by the students or the invigilator. However, Kerala University was not alone when it came to major exam goof ups. Kannur University was forced to cancel three of its examinations due to the question papers being the same as the 2021 exams.

Kannur University had to cancel two BSc Psychology papers after it was reported that the university had repeated last year's question paper for the exams. The question paper for the 3rd semester BSc Psychology exams was found to be identical to the ones given to students in 2021. Due to this same reason, Kannur University was forced to postpone the BA Philosophy Exam as well. Kannur University Examination Controller, P J Vincent resigned due to the incident and the varsity has stated that the teachers responsible for the error will be blacklisted.
