The Consortium of NLUs has released the CLAT application form for admission to 5-year LLB and 1-year LLM courses offered by 22 participating NLUs. CLAT 2022 exam will be conducted on May 8, 2022.
The registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 commenced on January 1, 2022. The online registration process will be open till March 31, 2022. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the UG and PG courses may duly fill the application form and submit it before the last date. The CLAT 2022 application fee is Rs. 4000 for general and Rs. 3500 for reserved category candidates.

The pen-and-paper-based CLAT 2022 exam will be conducted on May 8, 2022. Admit cards for the exam will be issued to only such candidates who successfully submit their applications.

CLAT 2022 eligibility criteria:
The consortium has prescribed the following course-wise eligibility criteria for CLAT 2022.
- Academic qualification - UG applicants must have passed the 10+2 exam with at least 45% marks (SC/ST candidates need 40%). Those applying to the PG program need at least 50% marks in graduation (SC/ST candidates need 45%).
- Age limit - There is no upper age limit for either the 5-year LLB or one-year LLM program.
- Others: Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in 2022 can also apply under a provisional basis.
Steps to Register for CLAT 2022
To fill the CLAT 2022 application form, follow these steps:
- Go to the official website of the CLAT consortium - Click Here
- Click on the “Register” tab
- A registration form will open where you have to fill in your name, email id, and phone number.
- Once the registration is complete, a new candidate account would be created.
- Login to your account and fill in the rest of the form.
- The application will have fields like personal, academic, and contact details. Enter all the details correctly.
- Exam center and NLU preference: You also have to select exam centers (a maximum of three centers allowed) and NLUs. The entries should be in the order of priority.
- Upload documents
- Pay the application fee in online mode to complete the application process.

CLAT 2023
In an interesting development, CLAT 2023 entrance exam will also be conducted in 2022; the exam will be held on December 18, 2022. This means, there will be two CLAT examinations this year. The application form of CLAT 2023 will open later.
