Common Law Admission Test 2026 exam has once again highlighted growing demand for legal education in India, with large number candidates turning up for exam this year. Data released by Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) shows high attendance across both undergraduate and postgraduate exams.

UG CLAT Attendance at 96.83%, PG Crosses 92%

For undergraduate programme, 96.83% of registered candidates appeared for exam, which is highest attendance rates seen in recent years.Postgraduate CLAT also witnessed a strong turnout with 92.45% of candidates taking the exam.

CLAT 2026 examination was conducted on December 7; its final answer key was released on December 16. The Consortium has since made the results available, allowing aspirants to access detailed scorecards that include their All India Rank, category and merit position.

Counselling Underway for CLAT 2026

Counselling registration for CLAT 2026 is currently open and will continue until December 27, 2025. Eligible candidates are required to log in using their credentials to download scorecards and complete counselling process for seat allocation across NLUs.

This year, a total of 92,344 candidates registered for CLAT, this is around 17% more than the previous admission cycle. The near full attendance shows that that most of the candidates appeared for 2026 exam with serious preparation, rather than treating it as a trial attempt.
