Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai has issued notification for PhD programme in Intellectual Property Law 2022, apply latest by June 10, 2022.
DPIIT IPR Chair at Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai has invited applications for admission to the full-time PhD programme in Intellectual Property Law. The number of seats is only one.
The eligibility requirements are UGC- NET in Law, Master’s degree in Law with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade ‘B’ on the UGC 7-point scale, and a relaxation of 5% in eligibility criteria will be granted to candidates from SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled persons. Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. However, before completing the admission procedure, the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination has to be produced to show that the candidate fulfils the eligibility criteria.
The official notification says, "Preference will be given to candidates having domain knowledge and/or publications in IPR."
The stipend for NET Qualified with JRF is INR 25,000 and for NET Qualified without JRF is INR 16,000 per month.
Enrolement details of MNLU PhD program
The notification further added, "Enrolment for the Ph.D. Degree shall ordinarily be full-time. The candidate shall put in a minimum of three years of residence of which at least 18 months shall be in the university. There shall thus be provision for the candidate to earn credits for research work done outside the university. Six years shall be the maximum period in which a full-time candidate shall complete the research work and submit it for evaluation."
