National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) Hyderabad has won the 5th Cross Examination Moot. The NALSAR team defeated King's College London's team to become the winner of the cross-examination moot competition. This international-level competition was held from October 27 to 31 at Sciences Po and the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris. The team of NALSAR included Ashish Reddy, Dhruv Laalam, Jeetendra Vishwakarma, Sarthak Bansal and Shivanetra Palanisamy, who defeated King's College, London in the finals.
Other than NALSAR Hyderabad, National Law University, Delhi, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Christ University, Bangalore, OP Jindal Global University, National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, and Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, also participated in the moot court competition.
The competition had a topic related to the construction arbitration dispute that arises from the termination of battery production and commercialisation contracts between private and state bodies. The competition also focused on the involvement of allegations of deceptive practices during the negotiations in construction permits, the cost of raw materials and profit profit-sharing ratio.
