Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that digital and skill universities will be established in the state to provide quality education to youths. He made the announcement during the departmental review meeting on Wednesday.

At present, there is a proposal to make Digital University in Ujjain and Skill University in Bhopal. The first digital university in the country is in Kerala. The Minister directed Ujjain University Professors and departmental officers to go to the Kerala University and present the concept paper. Similarly, Professors and department officials of Barkatullah University will visit Rajasthan Skill University. The teams are expected to come up with the concept note within three weeks that will include the basic plan of the university in Madhya Pradesh.

Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Shailendra Singh and Commissioner Higher Education Sonali Wayangankar were also present in the meeting.

The Minister said that the pandemic has helped students to get acquainted with the digital education. Due to COVID outbreak, several universities, schools and educational institutions in the country have adapted online mode of education to avoid any academic loss of the students. Digital University will be then easier for the students to adopt. Door-to-door education will be accessible through Digital University. Students will also be able to get an education in different regional languages.
