Maharashtra English-medium schools to get INR 2 cr towards RTE admissions dues

The government of Maharashtra has announced its decision to pay INR 2 crore to English-medium schools towards their dues over 25 per cent admissions in the Right to Education Act quota, according to School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad. The announcement was made by Gaikwad while speaking at an annual conference of the Maharashtra English School Trustees Association in Mumbai on Tuesday.
FYJC Admissions 2022 application process begins on May 17
The application process for Maharashtra First Year Junior College (FYJC, or Class 11) admission is all set to begin on May 17. The authorities have announced a tentative schedule. Meanwhile, the authorities will commence the mock registration round in May. “This round is aimed at providing practice to candidates for the online registration process. The idea is to avoid mistakes in the final process,” said an officer from the Directorate of Education (Secondary) which regulates the Common Admissions Process for FYJC. The mock round will be held conducted between May 1 and 14.
School Principals to be trained
In order to conduct FYJC admissions, the Mumbai division has decided to provide mandatory training to school principals. The division has also announced a schedule for the same. The principals have also been allotted the task to appoint one official from the school who will be responsible for FYJC admission-related tasks. Deputy Director of Education Sandeep Sangave will provide the training. The training for school principals will commence on April 20 and nine separate sessions will be held. The sessions will continue until April 27.
