Maharashtra School Summer Vacation 2022: The government of Maharashtra on Monday released an official notification informing that summer vacation for students of Classes 1 to 9 and 11 will begin from May 2 to June 12. According to the circular issued by the state's school education department, the state schools will begin the next academic session in the state on June 13 except in Vidarbha. Meanwhile, the educational institutes will reopen on June 27 owing to high day temperatures in the region during the period.
The circular stated that the schools will release the results of Classes 1 to Class 9 and 11 examinations on April 30 or during the vacation period. Recently, an order released by the Maharashtra education department stated that schools for Classes 1 to 9 and 11 will function 'full day' until April 30. The decision was taken in order to compensate for the academic loss caused to students due to COVID-19. However, later, the department said that schools that have completed their syllabus need not remain open until April 30. Usually, for Classes 1 to 9, the Maharashtra state schools begin vacation by April 15.
The GR issued by IM Kazi, joint secretary, Maharashtra government, has directed schools to function full day on Saturdays instead of half-day and voluntarily on Sundays. It also stated that exams of Classes 1 to 9 and 11 should be taken in the third week of April and results declared by May.
