ASU Launches London Campus, Offers Two-Country Degree Pathway for Indian Students

For Indian students, ASU London offers a two-country academic pathway. Eligible students can complete bachelor’s degree in London, with guaranteed entry to a master’s programme at Arizona State University in US.

Arizona State University (ASU) has launched ASU London, outlining an ambitious global education model that combines British undergraduate education with guaranteed progression opportunities to postgraduate study in United States.

A UK Degree Backed by a US University

ASU London has been positioned as a distinct academic centre rather than a traditional branch campus. According to senior university leadership, it is among first initiatives to allow students to earn a UK-accredited degree delivered by a US institution.

London centre will initially offer a limited number of programmes, primarily in engineering and management, with plans to scale up offerings over time based on market demand.

Why London?

Explaining the choice of location, Michael M. Crow, President, Arizona State University highlighted London’s historical and contemporary role as a global education, finance and innovation hub, as well as its strong academic ecosystem anchored by institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge and King’s College London. He said: “ASU London is designed as a fully residential campus, aimed at creating a diverse international academic community.”

Strong Focus on Indian Students

Over the next five years, ASU expects to enrol thousands of students from the US, the UK and other countries, with Indian students expected to form a significant share of the international cohort. University officials pointed to India’s strong existing ties with London and the growing familiarity of Indian students with ASU as drivers of this interest.

For Indian students in particular, ASU London offers a two-country academic pathway. Eligible students can complete a UK-accredited bachelor’s degree in London, with guaranteed entry to a master’s programme at Arizona State University in the US, subject to successful completion.

“By integrating British academic standards with American strengths in applied learning, we are creating a global education experience that prepares students for opportunity, mobility and impact,” he said.

No Immediate Branch Campus Plans for India

While several foreign universities are setting up campuses in India, ASU indicated it is currently prioritising a different approach. Instead of a standalone branch campus, the university is expanding international college partnerships, working with local institutions to create pathways to ASU in the US and eventually ASU London.
