BITSoM Welcomes Largest MBA Batch 2026-28 After 50% Seat Increase

BITS School of Management (BITSoM), the business school established under the aegis of BITS Pilani, has welcomed its MBA Class of 2026-28. This year’s batch is the biggest in the institute’s history after the school increased its intake from 160 to 240 seats. The new batch includes students from different academic backgrounds such as engineering, commerce, science and humanities. According to BITSoM, women make up 54% of the incoming class, while 79% of the students have previous work experience.

The MBA programme has started with a week-long orientation aimed at helping students settle into campus life. The orientation includes academic sessions, leadership talks, team-building activities and interactions with faculty members, alumni and industry professionals. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Saravanan Kesavan, Dean and Professor of Operations at BITSoM, said the diversity of the new batch will help create a better learning environment where students can learn from one another as well as from faculty members. He added that the institute aims to prepare graduates who can work effectively in an AI-driven business environment while also making responsible business decisions.

BITSoM said the increase in seats reflects the growing interest in its MBA programme. The institute offers a curriculum that combines classroom learning with live industry projects, leadership development and practical business exposure.

The school also highlighted that its faculty includes academicians from leading global business schools and that students get opportunities to interact with industry leaders throughout the programme. The MBA Class of 2026-28 will now begin its two-year academic journey with a focus on management education, technology, leadership and real-world business learning. The institute believes the mix of experienced professionals and fresh perspectives will contribute to a collaborative learning environment for the entire cohort.
