IIM Ahmedabad Placements 2020: First phase of the final placement begins

At the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, the first phase of the final placement process for the Post Graduate Programme of class of 2020 has been conducted on February 7. Four types of firms took participation in the process including advisory consulting & private equity, venture capital & asset management, investment banking & markets, and management consulting. According to an IIM Ahmedabad official statement, the list of phase 1 companies included consistent cohorts such as McKinsey & Company, Monitor Deloitte, Matrix Partners, Multiples, Nomura, Oliver Wyman, The Boston Consulting Group, Accenture Strategy, Kearney, Avendus, Bain & Co., Citi, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan, and KPMG. Besides this, many new recruiters such as Strategy & (Middle East) and Blackstone Group and Strategy also took part in the IIM placement process this year.

Across geographies (including Singapore) and tasks, finance firms provided pre-placement offers consisting of roles in private equity, venture capital & capital markets and investment banking. The highest number of offers which are 10 (including pre-placement offers) were made by Avendus. Next in the line came JP Morgan Chase & Co. –8—in phase 1. The second phase of placement will be conducted on February 10, 2020.

IIMA has always had an enormously rich blend of companies from varied sectors. Consulting firms, providing management consulting roles across geographies (including Malaysia and the Middle East) continue to recruit in large numbers. This underpins the forte of the general management programme at IIMA. McKinsey made the highest number of offers (including pre-placement offers) at 27, closely followed by The Boston Consulting Group - 23 in Cluster 1.
