IIT Kanpur MBA admission 2026

MBA application form for IIT Kanpur admission 2026 is now out. Candidates who wish to pursue MBA from the institute must apply before the deadline. IIT Kanpur offers MBA programme through its Department of Management Studies. Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of CAT 2025 score. Minimum CAT cut off requirement in 80 percentile for General/EWS/OBC candidates and 55 percentile for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

IIT Kanpur MBA Interview dates are, 13 to 16 March 2026. The GD/PI round will be conducted in Noida and Kanpur. Shortlisted candidates will receive email for participation most likely by February 15, 2026.

IIT Kanpur MBA 2026: Academic Requirement

Along with CAT score, candidates need to fulfill the following academic requirement.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with aggregate of 60%or a CPI of 6.0 on a scale of 10 for General/EWS/OBC candidates
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with aggregate of 50% or a CPI of 5.0 on a scale of 10 for SC/ST/PwD candidates

  • Open IIT Kanpur website
  • Go to MBA admission 2026
  • Read details and click on the application link
  • Select new user option to create a login ID
  • Once registered, enter personal, academic details and CAT 2025 score
  • Select PI test city and pay the registration fee

Q:   When is IIM Shortlist released?
A:

IIM shortlist of top IIMs is released in the first week of January soon after CAT result declaration. All IIMs release their shortlist one by one after that in the same month. By the end of January, all 21 IIMs release their MBA/PGP shortlist. The WAT-PI shortlists for admission is released individually by the institutes but for the CAP participating IIMs. For them, the CAP conducting IIM releases the PI shortlist form and guidelines on behalf of rest of them. 

Q:   Is there any fee charged for CAT form correction?
A:

No, the candidates do not have to pay any fee for CAT form correction. The facility is provided to candidates free of cost. However, if they have made an error in a field that will not be available for editing during form correction, then they will have to fill a fresh form before the submission deadline and pay the CAT application fee again. So, candidates must review the CAT application form before submitting to check whether they have filled all the information correctly or not. Once submitted, the form will not be editable but of photo, signature and test city.

Q:   Can I fill the CAT registration form before, and submit the fee later?
A:

Yes, candidates can fill out the CAT application form on one day and pay the fee on another day, as it is not mandatory to register for the CAT exam, fill out the application form, or pay the fee in one go. The registration and application window will remain open for candidates who have registered for the exam and created an ID until the last date of form submission. The applicant can log in and check/fill/edit the CAT application form anytime during the form-filling period. Only the phone number and email ID will not be editable once registration is complete. However, candidates need to submit the CAT form and application fee before the deadline to be eligible to appear for the exam. The CAT application form will not be submitted until the fee payment is completed. The fee can be paid via debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI wallet.
