IIT Kharagpur’s Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) has officially opened applications for the MBA programme for the 2026–28 academic session. Aspiring management students who appeared for CAT 2025 can now apply online for admission to one of leading technology-linked business schools.

VGSoM MBA Important Highlights

  • Program: MBA (2-year), VGSoM, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
  • Apply Through: CAT 2025 score.
  • Application Portal: Online applications are open on the institute’s portal.
  • Selection Process: Shortlisting for the online Personal Interview (PI) round will be based on CAT performance and academic profile, followed by final selection on a combined score of application rating, CAT performance, and PI performance.

Who Can Apply?

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 4-year) in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy or a Master’s degree in Science/Economics/Commerce (with Mathematics/Statistics at Bachelor’s level) are eligible.

Minimum marks:

  • General/EWS/OBC: 60% (or CGPA 6.5/10)
  • SC/ST/PwD: 55% (or CGPA 6.0/10)

Final-year students awaiting results may also apply, subject to submission of degree completion certificates by the stipulated deadline.

Selection Details

Shortlisting for the PI round considers multiple factors including CAT percentile, academic performance, and other criteria. Final admission offers are based on a composite score combining application rating, CAT performance and PI scores. IIT KGP official notice reads: "The selection of candidates for admission to the 2026-2028 batch of MBA at VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur is a two-step process. First the candidates who have applied successfully to the program are shortlisted for WAT-PI process. Secondly, the candidates who have been selected through the WAT-PI process are offered admission to MBA basis of a cumulative performance score on application rating and performance in WAT-PI."
